Intranet for everyone or how the future begins in school

We published the first version of the Intranet article for everyone in Computer World Romania magazine from 16 to 30 September 1997 and was then probably one of the first articles on this topic in Romania.

The theme of the article was then and we would like to keep it in this update as we create an Intranet with zero or minimum costs for our organization and if it is possible to democratize these Intranet philosophies, so intranet for all.

We're updating this article to address the challenge of launching a strategy that is worthy of the Sharepoint-based Intranet name for everyone.

I was saying in the first version of the article that in medicine there is the principle "do not worry first" and that in the domain of information it is good to start first with what is free. What we have to do is just accept the challenge. Can we make a project by which to recover all the bottlenecks so far and eventually position ourselves in advance to the information society and the knowledge society as we actually deserve to be the promoters of the world of cybernetics?

There is a saying that says, "If you want to prosper a year, then cultivate grain. If you want to prosper for ten years, plant trees. If you want to prosper for a lifetime, raise (educate) people. "So we should start with education. If we want to introduce Intranet technology to all companies and organizations in Romania, the "Intranet for All" project must start in school.

What we are proposing is to take full advantage of the MS for education and to create the best strategy to get the greatest benefits from this offer in the future. The educational premise is that the intranet is the best ecosystem for an educational environment and its knowledge of the most important asset for a future employee. The intranet can become the pinnacle of digital society's transformation.

The Romanesque School needs a national strategy that can maximize the benefits and start by making the most of everything that is free. The school itself is undergoing day-to-day major transformations in which competition becomes global. With publishing features of SharePoint Server 2013, we can publish sites in the Internet, Intranet, and Extranet.

In order to achieve the qualitative leap that is done by moving to an intranet working philosophy, we have to say that the intranet favors and strengthens feedback connections in the system, connections that represent the cohesion of a system and whose absence transforms it into a system with a cumbersome bureaucracy and totalitarian leadership capable of bankruptcy of any enterprise. Absence of feedback is an element of the enterprise's negative culture.
Intranet is a reliable network and "networks - says Adrian Restian, a Romanian specialist in cybernetic medicine - are anti-entropic mechanisms."

Intranet articles typically feature an impressive technical arsenal that seems to require a great technical training and spending on super-servers and firewalls. However, the best solution for switching to intranet / Internet solutions is "start small, scale fast". SharePoint Online is the solution that we can create in each school an Intranet as the core of a national digital trasformation strategy that prepares us for the web economy.

The Novel School must team with MS Sharepoint. Imagine what would mean, for example, the use of only one collaboration tool in Romanian schools: Microsoft Teams. Students could also study in virtual study teams, Teachers could team up with students on study subjects, make teams of excellence run by the school head, the inspectorate, and the ministry would form working teams with directors and teachers.
